What do travel and tourism managers do?
The travel consultant advises clients on their business or holiday travel requirements and makes the necessary land, sea and air bookings, as well as reserving hotel accommodation. Comprehensive itineraries can also be compiled for clients. Other routine tasks are planning the most economical routes for clients and confirming all arrangements. Travel agencies provide the planning of trips, issuing of tickets, comprehensive services such as securing passports, visas, traveler’s cheques, personal and baggage insurance, and the use of cars on arrival. A large part of each day is a spent answering inquiry about fares, rates, timetables and general travel information helping people plan their trips. Visitors are provided with information regarding destinations, both national and international.
